Dubtime is a website and forum run by and for enthusiasts.

Although we try to keep any objectional or otherwise offensive material off the forums, we do strongly recommend that the site is only for those over 18 years of age.

Be polite! We’re a friendly, welcoming community and want it to stay like that. Don’t be rude or abrasive. If you’re pleasant to others, then they will be pleasant back.

Any offensive or mature-themed material (i.e. pornography or anything else considered not to be work safe) is not permitted.

Have fun, but not at the expense of others! We all like to have fun, and we enjoy a laugh and a joke, but so long as that’s all it is. We don’t like the ridiculing of fellow community members.

Usual common sense stuff - Don't do things that are obviously wrong, such as harassing other members (either via posting, the pm system or the boards email system), trolling (posting with the sole intent to provoke angry responses) etc. There are far too many to list (!), so just don't do things that would obviously be wrong and against the rules.

Like you, we all enjoy signatures and avatars and don’t mind anyone having them, but try to keep them to a reasonable size. Huge pictures (either in pixel or byte size) can get really annoying, especially to those on dial-up. We’ll ask you to change it if it’s too big.

We’re a forgiving community. We realise that sometimes things can be said that aren’t meant or are taken the wrong way. We also realise that sometimes people’s emotions get the better of their judgement. We’re not quite so forgiving of people who just seem to want to cause trouble.

We don’t like to use it, but we have a system to warn people if they’re doing things these guidelines have politely asked them not to do. If the guidelines continue to be ignored then a warning might be issued. And if you’re a serial community disrupter or troll, a short ban (permanent in extreme cases) may well be in order so that those of us who like to hang out here can continue to have an enjoyable time.

Any confidential information you provide will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, although the owners and staff cannot be held liable for any hacking attempt in which your data is compromised.

Be friendly. If you’re friendly and polite we’ll welcome you, and you’ll fit right in! We want to encourage responsible use of our forums and discourage activities, which disrupt our community and reduce the value of our services.
